The Bayhealth Foundation recently hosted its third annual Spring Golf Tournament at The Rookery North and signed a unique collaborative agreement with the contractor and architect.
The campaign aims to raise $15 million to supplement Bayhealth’s investment in the health campus project. The golf event included the signing of an Integrated Project Delivery Agreement for the project, which has a $275 million to $300 million price tag.
“We are excited to design a health campus in southern Delaware that’s built for a new era in healthcare,” said Bayhealth President & CEO Terry Murphy, “The health campus will allow us to operate more efficiently and use the latest technology to improve the patient experience.” CannonDesign and Whiting-Turner are providing the expertise necessary for a project of this magnitude. “We are honored to have them as partners,” he said.
The health campus project – slated to open in early 2019 – involves the use of integrated project delivery (IPD) and features LEAN Led design concepts and a IPD is a project delivery method. When properly structured, trust-based collaboration encourages the owner, designer and builder to focus on project outcomes rather than their individual goals.
Whiting-Turner, CannonDesign and Bayhealth officially signed the agreement to continue that work at the golf tournament, known as an Integrated Project Delivery Agreement (IPDA). The contract makes all parties equally responsible for the overall success of the project.
