North Wilmington-based Solenis buys companies in Netherlands, Australia-New Zealand

Solenis-logoSolenis, which has its headquarters in north Wilmington,  has purchased companies in the Netherlands, and Australia and New Zealand.

Solenis Australia Pty Limited signed an agreement to acquire substantially all of the business assets of Nuplex Pulp & Paper from Nuplex Industries Limited. Solenis will acquire the technical, commercial, production assets and personnel of the Nuplex Pulp & Paper business in Australia and New Zealand.

Nuplex Pulp & Paper is currently the exclusive distributor and technology licensee of Solenis pulp and paper products within Australia and New Zealand.

The parties expect to complete the acquisition during the second quarter of this year.

“The Australia and New Zealand market is an important market for Solenis,” said Nandu Dhekne, vice president, Asia Pacific, Solenis. “The opportunity to expand our business in this region by going direct to the market through the acquisition of the Nuplex Pulp & Paper business will enable Solenis to be a total solution provider for our customers.”

Also, Solenis LLC, through its Dutch subsidiary Solenis Netherlands B.V., completed the acquisition of all  shares of Lostris International B.V. and Wester Blend B.V., Dutch seller and manufacturer of specialty chemicals primarily used in the pulp and paper industry.

The businesses will be integrated into Solenis as part of its strategy to broaden its process chemicals offering and expand its geographic presence.
