Nason promotions and hires announced

Nason Construction, Inc. announced the following promotions and additions.

Matthew Thrower, CHC, has been promoted from VP of Operations to Chief Operating Officer.  He has been here for  8+ years  Thrower will be involved in all aspects of the business operations and will be working very closely with Tom Nason in leading the company into its  95th year of business.

Ryan Mitchell will be Project Manager.  He has been managing projects in the Washington DC and Salisbury regions and has extensive experience working in Ocean City, MD.  His strength, professionalism, and client-focused priority will strengthen our operations department as well as client satisfaction.

Matt McCutcheon is a recent graduate of WVU, joining Nason as a Project Engineer.

Chris Hart has joined the  Preconstruction Department as an Assistant Estimator.  He will work closely to assist our preconstruction efforts in all of our regions and market sectors.  Hart has 10 years of experience working on residential and commercial projects.

Laura McLaine was promoted from Marketing Manager to Director of Marketing and Communications.  She has been with Nason Construction since October of 2013, and   has displayed  creativity, management skills, and leadership, a release stated. This promotion will allow her to contribute across various departments and continuously improve the way our message is received.

Hudson named to Planning and Zoning Commission

County Council, appointed Douglas B. Hudson  to a seat on the five-member panel, a council-appointed body that reviews and gives consideration toward subdivision applications and other land use requests. The appointment will take effect immediately and will last through June 2017, when the current three-year term ends. Commissioners are paid $250 a meeting.

County Councilman George B. Cole nominated Hudson in April to fill the seat vacated by then-Commissioner Rodney Smith, who resigned for health reasons in March after serving 12 years on the commission.

Cole praised Hudson for his vast knowledge of communities and residents in Sussex County from his work as a former Delaware State Police trooper and as a school safety monitor in the Indian River School District, and added that  his experience in custom home-building, design, and real estate sales make him an ideal candidate for the job.

Surgeon joins Beebe

Thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon Christopher M Genco, MD, has joined Beebe Healthcare, Lewes.

Genco arrived here from the Michigan Cardiovascular Institute where he practiced for over 24 years in the Saginaw-Midland-Bay City area. He was one of the five busiest surgeons in Michigan performing between 200 and 350 open heart surgeries per year as well as numerous vascular and thoracic cases. He has performed well over 5,000 open heart procedures in his career. He was also instrumental in starting the first TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) programs in Mid-Michigan.

Genco completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame in 1980, and earned his medical degree from SUNY Stony Brook in New York. He completed his general surgery residency at SUNY Stony Brook and by 1992 completed his Cardiothoracic fellowship in Boston at Tufts New England Medical Center. In 2008 he received additional training in endovascular surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery, Genco is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Surgery and the American College of Phlebology.

Genco’s scope of practice includes all forms of adult cardiac and thoracic surgeries including aortic valve replacement, mitral valve repair, replacement as well as coronary artery bypass surgery, lung resections for lung cancer, carotid endarterectomies as well as abdominal and thoracic aneurysm repairs.

Berkshire welcomes Williams

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Newark Office, welcomes Ronin Williams as a Sales Associate. Williams is a member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors.  He serves New Castle and Kent Counties.

Poga joins Bryn Mawr Trust

Bryn  Mawr Bank Corporation, parent of The Bryn Mawr Trust Company, announced the appointment of Michael Poga, as Vice President, Mortgage Loan Officer in the Mortgage Division.  Poga is based in the Bryn Mawr, PA, corporate headquarters; he joined BMT on April 4.

He joined BMT from Firstrust Bank, where he was Senior Mortgage Loan Officer. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Residential Mortgage Sales at First Niagara for three plus years, and has over  25 years of mortgage lending experience.
