DSU appointments

Delaware State University  recently announced the following  appointmentsL

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Michael A. Hales has been appointed as the new director of DSU’s Aviation Program. He is a 25-year veteran of the U.S. Army, in which he served as an aviation officer at multiple levels of key leadership positions and responsibility. He is an FAA Commercial Pilot who is dual rated in both airplanes and helicopters.

Hales now oversees the University’s Aviation Program that offers Bachelor of Science Degrees in the concentration of Professional Pilot and Aviation Management. He leads the faculty and instructors who serve more than 100 students and personnel who maintain the fleet of 11 University-owned planes.

The new director of the Aviation Program possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College in Albany, N.Y., and a Master of Arts degree in Procurement and Acquisition Management from Webster University in Webster Groves, Mo.

Tracye Williams is the new executive director of Alumni Relations in the Division of Institutional Advancement. In incorporating more than ten years of career development experience, her key focus is to create a lifelong engagement continuum with DSU alumni that encourages and fosters their involvement with their alma mater.

Before joining DSU, Williams was the managing principal of CT Williams & Associates, a fundraising, and engagement consulting firm, which served a host of Delaware nonprofit clients and focused on continuing their missions.  Before starting her own firm, Williams worked in health care philanthropy at MedStar, Washington Hospital Center in the District of Columbia as the Director of Sustained Giving. She also had a professional chapter as a member of the development staff at the Bayhealth Foundation in Dover.

Williams earned her MBA and B.S. in Marketing from Delaware State University. She is a native Delawarean and is active in the community with nonprofits like the Delaware Multicultural & Civic Organization (DEMCO, Inc.).

Jovoni Simmons has been appointed as the new manager of Alumni Engagement in the Division of Institutional Advancement. In the post, she will implement new initiatives for the young alumni community.

Prior to assuming this post, she was an admissions counselor in the DSU Office of Admissions where she spent two years recruiting students in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

Simmons has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Wesley College in Dover. She would go on to work for five years in her alma mater’s Office of Institutional Advancement, severing as an advancement service coordinator and Assistant to Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. She also worked as the Cultural Infusion Liaison for the Office of Student Affairs during her time at Wesley College.

M&T promotion

M&T Bank has announced Evan Pizzuto was appointed assistant vice president and senior branch manager for the bank’s Wilmington branch. Pizzuto formerly served as branch manager for the bank’s Pike Creek branch.

He will manage the team at the bank’s Tenth and Market Street branch in Wilmington, and lead outreach to retail and commercial customers to provide traditional financial services and customized product solutions.

Pizzuto holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Buffalo, with a concentration in finance. He is an active member of the Claymont Community Center, where he serves as treasurer and president-elect, and currently resides in Philadelphia.

Hagley marketing manager announced

Hagley Museum and Library announced that it has hired Jessica Eisenbrey to serve as its marketing manager. As part of Hagley’s Audience Engagement Division, she is responsible for media relations, public relations, social media, advertising and brand management.

She previously worked as manager of media relations for the Delaware Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Her primary responsibilities were media and constituent relations and internal communications. Before her role with OMB, she worked as a reporter with the Delaware State News.

Eisenbrey holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Delaware and is currently working on a master’s degree in public administration from Wilmington University.

UD Athletics  business manager named

Erin Eddinger has been named athletics business manager for the University of Delaware Athletics program.

Eddinger, will be responsible for completing EADA (Equity in Athletics Data Analysis) and NCAA filings, overseeing equipment, and apparel purchases, preparing and managing budgets for all 21 sports plus administrative departments, managing all internal and external audits, performing revenue and expense analysis, preparing monthly revenue and expense account reconciliations, and managing all other daily business operations.

She comes to Delaware from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa. where she served one year as athletics business manager. She first joined Arcadia as assistant to the director of athletics and recreation, a position that was funded primarily through a grant from the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women’s Internship Grant Program.

Eddinger earned her master’s degree in business administration at Misericordia University (Dallas, Pa.), where she was also a women’s soccer assistant coach. In 2012, the Misericordia women’s soccer team reached the national semifinals where the Cougars lost to eventual national champion and conference rival Messiah College.

Prior to her arrival at Misericordia, Eddinger earned her bachelor’s degree in sport management from Juniata College in Huntington, PA in 2011. While at Juniata she was an all-conference women’s soccer player. She also was an athletics events manager for the sports information office and was an intern for the intramurals department.A

Fitzgerald joins Artisans’ Bank

Artisans’ Bank announced that Kirby C. Fitzgerald has joined the bank’s Commercial Banking Division as Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager – Sussex County. Fitzgerald will be responsible for growing the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio within the communities of Sussex County

He has several years of commercial banking experience.  He was previously employed at M & T Bank as a Middle Market Relationship Manager where he managed a business portfolio with customers located in Sussex and Worcester County.  He held several positions at M & T Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Group and also completed the M & T Bank Relationship Manager Sales Program.  Prior to his M & T employment he held several positions at the former Wilmington Trust Co (WTC) where he completed its Credit Training Program.  Before joining WTC, he was a Leasing Relationship Manager with First American Equipment Finance where he managed a territory that covered seven states.

Fitzgerald is a graduate of West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV where he received a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration in Finance degree.  He is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, Beta Rho Chapter and a member of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford.

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate welcomed Kara Brasure to their Rehoboth Beach office as a sales associate licensed in Delaware. She is a member of the Sussex County Association of R (SCAOR).

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate welcomed Jim Smith to their Greenville office as a sales associate licensed in Delaware. He has a degree in political science and economics, has a background of more than 25 years in the financial services industry and holds a license in property/casualty, life, accident and health insurance as well as designations as a Chartered Financial Consultant, Certified Wealth Specialist and Certified Retirement Specialist. Smith is a member of the Rotary Club, and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and Ferris School.

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate welcomed Paul Wildey to their Cecil County office as a sales associate licensed in Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. Wildey, a University of Delaware graduate and former teacher, has led a successful 35 year career in the local real estate industry as a full-time sales professional, sales manager and associate broker. During his career he has served on the board for the New Castle County Board of REALTORS, and has earned his GRI (Graduate REALTORS Institute), CSP (Certified Site Professional), and CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designations. He was most recently recognized for Outstanding Leadership and Community Service by the Chesapeake City Volunteer Fire Company.

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate welcomed Ingrid J. Yerger to their Greenville office as an associate with The Steve Crifasi Group. A residential sales agent licensed in Delaware and Pennsylvania, she has a background of over 20 years with the banking industry.

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate welcomed Greg Rairdan to their Greenville office as a sales associate licensed in Delaware. Rairdan, who has a Ph.D. in Plant Biology, is a former DuPont research scientist with experience in investment properties. He specializes in residential and multi-family properties.
