Komen AwardsBayhealth was recently named as one of 14 programs to receive a community grant from Susan G. Komen Philadelphia  for the 2016-2017 award year.

Susan G. Komen Philadelphia® has a mission to advance critical and life-saving breast cancer early detection and treatment programs within its service areas.

Through its screening, diagnosis, and treatment programs, Bayhealth hopes to reduce the impact of breast cancer in Delaware.

“These grantees are our mission in action. They are in the trenches every day, connecting women and men in need with the free mammograms, treatment, education, and support that can save their lives,” said Elaine I. Grobman, chief executive officer of Susan G. Komen Philadelphia.

Each month, Bayhealth provides free mammograms to those who are uninsured or underinsured. Each October, Bayhealth collaborates with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and other community organizations to host Go Pink!, a month-long breast cancer awareness initiative. Through community partnerships, Bayhealth provides education about breast cancer risks and support for survivors of breast cancer.
