Snowfall totals have been reduced a bit as an expected ‘Noreaster hits the area over the weekend, the National Weather Service reported.
Precipitation is expected to begin Saturday afternoon in Delmarva and Saturday night elsewhere, with the exception of northern New Jersey and the Poconos, where it may not begin until after daybreak Sunday.
Precipitation will begin as a rain/snow mix in Delmarva Saturday afternoon, before changing back to snow Saturday night.
For the remainder of the area, precipitation will begin as snow. The best chance for predominantly snow will be across eastern Pennsylvania, central and northern New Jersey, as well as far northern Delmarva.
South of this area, precipitation will likely mix with rain on Sunday, especially in far southern Delmarva.
Total snowfall amounts along and northwest of I-95 have decreased slightly, 2 to 4 inches are forecast, with amounts tapering down to an inch over southern New Jersey and southern Delmarva. The snow will be heavy and wet, sticking to trees and power lines.
