The owner of a popular Claymont restaurant, employees of the establishment and a Delaware Park worker have been arrested on charges of illegal structuring of  Delaware Lottery sports bets.

Delaware Department of Safety and Homeland Security Division of Gaming Enforcement  announced the arrests on Friday.

Delaware State Police detectives, assigned to the Division of Gaming Enforcement, identified a group of individuals accused of working together to structure winning cash payouts of parlay football tickets to evade cash transaction reports.

On February 3,  Charles Ross, owner of The Reef Restaurant, as well as various Reef employees and a Delaware Park cashier were arrested in connection with the probe.

Structuring cash transactions to evade reporting requirements is a violation of Delaware’s money laundering statute.

Delaware Park Casino and Delaware State Lottery assisted with the investigation.

The Delaware Lottery sports program allows parlay bets on multiple games. Single-game bets are banned under court rulings.

Anyone who received less than 100 percent of the value of your winning football parlay ticket when cashing out at The Reef, please contact DSP Detective David Hannah at 302-5868 or Detective Philip Jackson 302-526-5854.
