Fronczkowski named partner

Maillie LLP announced that Edward Fronczkowski has been named Partner effective October 1, 2015.  Maillie LLP is a regional public accounting firm with offices in Mont Clare, PA, West Chester, PA, and Wilmington, DE.

Fronczkowski joined Maillie in 1997, and has extensive experience with clients in the areas of real estate, retail and service industries, not-for-profits and government organizations.  He has special expertise in tax and auditing. In addition, He plays a key role in the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan Auditing practice.

Ed is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Delaware Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and is active in the Delaware State and New Castle County Chambers of Commerce.  He is a member of The Caesar Rodney Rotary Club, Paws for People and is heavily involved in his surrounding communities.

Newark finance chief to take new post

After serving as the director of finance for the City of Newark for nearly three years, Lou Vitola announced he will step down to join the Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation (DEMEC) as the vice president of finance. His last day with the city will be Tuesday, May 31.

Vitola worked in the energy and chemical industries before transitioning to the public sector as the finance manager for the Town of Middletown in 2006. Prior to his current role, Vitola briefly served as the director of finance and investment services for the Office of the State Treasury.

The city will perform a nationwide search for a successor, who will be responsible for all financial operations, including accounting, asset management, risk management and utility rate administration, while managing a consolidated budget of more than $91 million.

Three join Santora CPA

Santora CPA Group announced three new employees:

Lisa J. Maniscalco, CPA has joined the firm as a Supervisor in the A&A Department.  She is a graduate of West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Lisa is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of CPAs.  She will be providing a variety of accounting and auditing services to the firm’s clients.

Charlene E. Burr and Erin C. DeLong have joined the Administrative Team. Charlene is the Managing Director’s Administrative Assistant.  Erin is an Administrative Assistant in the Clerical Department.  Both ladies will be providing additional administrative support to the firm.

Two promotions and four new staffers at EDIS

EDiS Company announced the promotion of two current employees and the addition of four new employees to the EDiS team.

Mark Grunza was recently promoted from Project Manager to Senior Project Manager. In his eighteen years of service at EDiS, he has worked extensively with historical and museum renovations, including projects for Hagley Museum, Delaware Historical Society and the Delaware Museum of Natural History. He also completed the construction of the new Cinemark Theatre at Christiana Mall.

Christian Losito was promoted to Project Facilitator at EDiS. Losito will be managing EDiS’ shop location as well as providing support and delivery coordination for EDiS’ project sites and the main office.

Tom Billé was added to the EDiS team, full-time, as a Project Technician in their EDiS Building Systems division. He has been a part-time employee at EDiS for over two years, after starting as an intern in 2013. He recently completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management at Wilmington University.

Donald “Donny” DePew joined as an Assistant Superintendent after graduating from Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades in Media, Pennsylvania. He completed an internship over the summer with EDiS and worked on renovations at Archmere Academy in Claymont, Delaware.

Samara Hamilton was hired by EDiS as a Project Engineer. Hamiton is a graduate of Temple University with a Masters of Architecture and recently worked for Carrier Class Green Infrastructure as the Director of Design and Development.

David “Dave” Shaffer joined EDiS’ BIM Services division as a BIM Technical Designer. He has a background in graphic design and most recently developed his talents to work as a BIM Detailer and Designer.

Tucker new PRSA president

The members of the Public Relations Society of America, Delaware Chapter voted to elect Leon Tucker president. Tucker, director of communications for Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County and a former journalist, will serve in the position in 2016 and up to an additional one-year term.

Tucker has been a member of PRSA Delaware for nearly three years and served on the board as president-elect last year. Previously, he was a journalist and editor with several newspapers, including The News Journal. He also served as an adjunct professor of journalism at Delaware State University. Tucker is a graduate of Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Fl.

In addition to Tucker’s appointment, the members elected two new directors to the board:

Brittany Mason was elected to an at-large position.  Mason is the communications officer at the Rodel Foundation of Delaware in Wilmington, Del.  She is a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications arts and sciences. Mason serves on the board of The Next Generation, a fund of the Delaware Community Foundation, is an advisor for the Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Board, and serves as a member of the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League Young Professionals.

Melanie Ryder was elected to an at-large postion.  Ryder is communications project manager for Chesapeake Utilities Corporation in Dover, Del. Ryder earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Penn State University and a master’s of business administration from Wesley College. She also serves on the Southern Delaware Go Red for Women Committee for the American Heart Association of Delaware.

Nedelcoviciu joins Bayhealth practice

Bayhealth General Surgery, Dover announced Radu Alexandru Nedelcoviciu, MD had joined their practice. The practice includes Drs. Edward Alexander, Darrell Carpenter, Gautamy Dhadham, John Glenn, and Assar Rather.

As a fellowship-trained trauma and surgical critical care physician, Nedelcoviciu cares for patients at Bayhealth Kent General’s Trauma III designated emergency department. In addition, he sees general surgery cases with interest in traditional and laparoscopic surgery, and performs vascular access surgery for end stage renal disease.

Nedelcoviciu completed a two-year fellowship in trauma and surgical critical care at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital – Ryder Trauma Center. The center is the only Level I designated trauma center in South Florida and treats approximately 3,600 victims of major trauma each year. It also serves as the nation’s only surgical training facility for the U.S. Army.

After earning his medical degree from Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania,  he completed a residency in general surgery at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA.

Morris named GM at Matt’s Fish Camp

Scott Kammerer, president and CEO of SoDel Concepts in Rehoboth Beach, announced the promotion of Nick Morris to general manager of Matt’s Fish Camp in North Bethany Beach, one of eight restaurants in the SoDel Concepts family.

Morris first job in the industry was at Applebee’s, where he was a server and bartender. He soon graduated to the independent restaurant scene along the coast. He moved to San Francisco, but the Atlantic Ocean had too much of a pull. He returned to Delaware to help open a(MUSE.) in Rehoboth. He joined SoDel Concepts in 2012 as a bar tender at Papa Grande’s Coastal Taqueria in Fenwick Island.

Delaware Hospice adds staff

Delaware Hospice announced the addition of the following individuals to its staff.

Naomi Bentz, RN, of Hartly as a Registered Nurse. Bentz holds an Associate Degree from Delaware Technical and Community College, Delaware.

Ly. Butcher, LMSC, of Lewes as a Social Worker. Butcher earned a Masters in Social Work Degree from the University of Texas, Arlington, Texas.

Diana Chavis, CNA, of Camden, as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Chavis received her degree from Polytech Adult Education, Delaware.

Mindy Eskridge, RN, of Georgetown, as a Registered Nurse. Eskridge was awarded degrees in AAS Nursing, BA Behavioral Science, and AAS Human Services from Delaware Technical Community College, Delaware and Wilmington University, Delaware.

Dr. Jo Ann Fields, MD, of Dover as an Associate Medical Director. She holds degrees from the Medical University of South Caroline, Charleston and North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Salem-Winston, NC. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and Medical Society of Delaware.

Megan Green, RN, of Wilmington as an Admission Nurse. Green holds an Associate Degree from Delaware Technical and Community College, Delaware.

Ashley Nicole Jarman, of Milford, as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Jarman received her degree from Delaware Technical Community College, Delaware..

Brittany Keesler, of Wilmington, as a Receptionist. Keesler received her Communications Degree from Wilmington University, Delaware.

Joan Kinsey, MSM, CRNP, of Lewes as a Nurse Practitioner. Kinsey holds a Masters in Management Degree from Lesley College, Massachusetts.

Karen Kohlhaus, RN, of Henderson, MD as a Registered Nurse. Kohlhaus holds an Associate Degree from Chesapeake College, Maryland with certifications in Licensed Practical Nurse as well as Master Barber.

Amanda Lilly, RN, of Wilmington as a Registered Nurse. Lilly received an Associate Degree from Delaware Technical and Community College, Delaware.

Kevin Mabrey, RN, BSN, of Magnolia as an Admission Nurse. Mabrey earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Wilmington University, Delaware.

Karen Mika, MSN, RN, CMSRN, of Milford as a Registered Nurse. Mika received her Master of Science in Nursing from Wesley College, Delaware.

Nancy Ngaruiya RN, BSN, BC, PCCN, of Dover as a Registered Nurse. Ngaruiya received her cum laude honors in her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Felician College, New Jersey.
