The Bulletin bows out as 5-day newsletter makes debut on Dec. 1

Bulletin 4.8.15Nearly three years ago, our  digital enterprise launched a website,

DelawareBusinessDaily.com  and a weekly PDF newsletter  The Business Bulletin.

The goal was to provide both breaking news coverage and an easy way to catch up on the week’s business news.

The approach proved to be  a success, thanks to the support of our readers and advertisers who saw the value of news delivered in a timely manner.

Along the way, we learned a great deal while watching the evolution of online news in Delaware.

The name DelawareBusinessDaily.com, while reflecting  regular news updates, also brought to mind a legacy newspaper in a world where news consumption was moving online via web, newsletter or social media.

Readers and advertisers often inquired about a print edition  and  the difference between the weekly Bulletin and   the online Business Daily.

The confusion increased a bit more with the launch last year of the Delaware Business Times a print, digital and events-based venture of Today Media.

More importantly, we   found that  readers increasingly  preferred our breaking news reports to a weekly newsletter/business journal.  As the size of smart screens increased, mobile was

We also faced the dilemma of seeing a growing volume of business news that could not always  be posted in a timely manner, due to the time required to build and edit Bulletin   pages in the PDF format.

Add in the quickening pace of news in recent months and the trend toward reading news on a mobile device and  it became clear that  a better mousetrap was needed.

The decision was made to re brand our enterprise with one identity that reflected our breaking news focus.

Our newsletter was given a fresh, clean look, with a mobile-friendly   format that is well suited for news and advertising messages.

The next step came naturally – moving the newsletter to a five-day-a-week schedule, with occasional breaking news reports.

Beginning Dec. 1, our new brand, Delaware Business Now will debut with the  first daily newsletter.

The new name reflects our mission of providing  timely business news in an easy-to-use format that is  well suited for mobile devices as well as computers.

The Bulletin will go away, but our commitment to “News Now, Not Later, will take a big step forward. .
