Police identify man found dead in parked car near Hockessin

New Castle County Police have identified a man found dead in a luxury  car near his home.

The New Castle County Police, Criminal Investigations Unit,  identified the victim as Shazim Uppal, 27, of the 100 block of St. Clair Drive in Hockessin. He was found   inside a sedan parked in the 100 block of St. Clair Drive in Hockessin in the parking lot of   Genesis Healthcare.

The preliminary investigation indicates Shazim died  from injuries he sustained from gunshot wounds to the upper torso.  Investigators learned he was last seen driving a 2007 Black Audi A8 with Delaware registration in the Pike Creek area Sunday  between the hours of 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.

This death  remains under investigation.

At 7:02 pm., Monday officers were called to the parking lot after receiving a report of a black Audi sitting in the parking lot for a long time. Uppal was found dead in the driver’s seat.
