The two to four inches of snow predicted for  northern Delaware has been downgraded to one to two inches with no snow in much of the state around Thanksgiving. Snow started falling Wednesday, in time to cause problems with the holiday plans of many.

However, forecasts continue to show one to two inches of wet snow

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J. has  issued lengthy reports normally reserved for much larger storms.

Snow is unusual around Thanksgiving in Delaware, although a number of snowfalls have occurred in early December.

The Weather Service office, reported  that low pressure is forecast to develop over the eastern Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday night. The low is expected to intensify as it tracks north northeastward along the East Coast.

Precipitation is forecast to move into the region from the south on Wednesday. The snow line includes the area around Interstate 95, with higher amounts to the north and little or no accumulation to the south.

Much higher snowfall amounts are expected in areas north of Interstate 95, making travel difficult for those visiting friends and family in Pennsylvania, New York and other areas.
