Town of Whitehall founders  broke ground this month on its first homes.

Whitehall will include seven neighborhoods, with this phase totaling 501 residential units and approximately 70,000  square feet  of employment and retail or commercial structures.

The Town of Whitehall is located off Lorewood Grove Road and Ratledge Road  in the Middletown area. Shown in photos on home page slide show, from left, are founders Brian DiSabatino of EDiS Company; Rich Julian of Eastern States Group and Peter Morrow of The Welfare Foundation.

DiSabatino stated in the community’s blog, “This type of town has not been created in Delaware for 100 years. We want to return to a style of town planning that created the best places in Delaware – a walkable community with everything within a quarter-mile of your front door.”

In response to a question on a blog post on traffic generated by the town, ownership said development will be gradual in the first two years. Founders have done extensive researech in an effort to build a walkable community.
