Trustees of Color, an organization that works to expand the current pool of people of color serving on Delaware’s nonprofit boards to ensure diversity, canceled a Board Diversity Expo at the Food Bank of Delaware’s Milford facility on Monday, October 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Columbus Day holiday and many interested persons not being able to attend the event were cited as the reasons for the cancellation.

Individuals of color interested in serving on boards and nonprofits seeking new board members were to have had the opportunity to network and talk about board and committee openings.

Despite the fact that many of Delaware’s nonprofits have indicated a desire to diversify their boards, people of color remain significantly under-represented,” said Trustees of Color Founder Cynthia Primo Martin.

The event is to be rescheduled.
