Trellist Marketing and Technology, Wilmington, announced that it completed an asset purchase agreement with Philadelphia-based Scribewise, LLC, a content marketing and public relations agency. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Scribewise, based in Center City Philadelphia, was founded in 2012 by John Miller, veteran broadcast journalist and marketer. Scribewise is a content creation engine that operates like an outsourced newsroom. The company combines established journalism and media relations practices to identify, produce and deliver impactful stories that fuel marketing efforts and build trust with client audiences.

“The addition of Scribewise to the Trellist family creates an exciting opportunity for our company, for our customers, and for our shareholders,” said David Atadan, founding partner and CEO of Trellist. “The team at Scribewise not only brings considerable expertise that will enable Trellist to provide high quality, journalistic content to enhance strategic marketing programs for our clients, but they’re analytical thinkers who solve problems creatively – just like we do. We know they’ll not only continue the outstanding work they’ve been doing for their existing clients, but will leverage the resources of Trellist to grow their business while expanding our existing offerings. We really see this transaction as a ‘1+1=4’ type of proposition.”

“Trellist realizes that we’re early in the history of content marketing and that, together, we have a tremendous opportunity to serve the marketplace,” said John Miller, founder and president of Scribewise.

Under the terms of the Agreement, Trellist has purchased all of Scribewise’s assets and has taken assignment of Scribewise’s customer agreements.

Scribewise’s current staff will become Trellist employees and continue to operate the business as a division of Trellist, adding its service offerings into Trellist’s current customer base.

Miller Mauro Group, Inc., provider of creative services for Delaware businesses and nonprofits for 30 years, has moved into new quarters at The Commons, 3512 Silverside Road, in Brandywine Hundred. The business had been on Mill Road in Wilmington.

“The suburban Wilmington location is convenient for our clients and the design of the new office enables us to display our best work for all our visitors to see,” says CEO Joe Mauro, who created the agency in 1984 with Ruthea Miller, president and chief operating officer. Clients range from Fortune 500 companies like DuPont to small businesses and nonprofits like the United Way of Delaware.

Miller Mauro began as an advertising and design agency when print was still the dominant medium, snf a year before Apple launched its Macintosh product line. The company was a pioneer in using Apple products.

The firm purchased two Macs and an Apple LaserWriter printer as soon as they hit the market and has used the company’s technology ever since.

“While we’ve been in business, the advertising and marketing world has changed significantly,” Mauro says.

“We’ve gone from designing for paper on a computer screen to designing on screen for displays on laptops, tablets and cellphones. We used to buy a lot of paper, but we hardly print anything anymore,” he says.

In addition to the transition from paper to digital formats, the marketing industry has seen a change of face as well, Miller says. “When we got started, the heads of corporate marketing departments tended to be middle-aged males. Now they are more likely to be women, and younger as well,” she says.

Miller Mauro produces advertising materials, brochures, trades how displays and website content.

Services include corporate identity and brand design; advertising and graphic design; illustration and digital imaging; copy writing and editing; publications and corporate communications; screen displays and interactive graphics; and website and mobile design and development.
