State fairLive Nation, the creator  of country music festivals Watershed, Faster Horses, Route 91 Harvest and FarmBorough, in partnership with Highway One, announced plans for a country music festival at the Delaware State Fairgrounds.

This comes after the original site in Sussex County,  sought by Delaware-based Highway One, was rejected after complaints by neighbors. The event also comes after the growing success  Firefly Music Festival on land in the Dover Downs complex, also in Kent County.

The festival is set to take place Aug. 14-16, 2015 in Harrington and will offer three days of country music. Like Firefly, the event will also have camping at Harrington Fields.

“Harrington, Delaware has always welcomed Country Music as part of the annual Delaware State Fair,” said Brian O’Connell, Live Nation President Country Touring. “Over the last several years, the idea of another event to compliment the fair with a three day hillbilly sleepover has been embraced by the artist community, and I can’t wait to debut the latest festival in our family.”

“We’ve been hosting concerts in Delaware since 1989,” said Alex Pires of Highway One. “We are excited to partner with Live Nation to help bring this three-day festival to the area, and what will no doubt include top notch country acts.”
