Delaware auto dealer Warren A. Price, 72, of Lewes, died Monday.
A death notice from the Cape Gazette took notice of Price’s business career that started when he began selling motorcycle parts out of the family farmhouse in Viola. One of eight children of a merchant seaman, Price started selling the parts at age 17 to help support the family.
He went to gain a Honda motorcycle franchise and later became one of Honda’s early auto dealers with a Dover location
Price went on to acquire several dealerships and became the sole Toyota dealer in New Castle County, with stores in New Castle and Newark. He was on hand a few weeks ago when Newark Toyotaworld opened a multimillion dollar showroom complex on Cleveland Avenue. He also bought and sold other dealerships in northern Delaware. Price also has dealerships in Salisbury, Md.
Price is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Linda J. Price, along with his eldest son, Todd Fisher, two daughters, Dr. Harper Price and Sasha Price-Walsh, and his siblings, Richard Price, Ellen Heinbach, Dan Price, Linda Shipman, Mike Price, Tom Price and Betsy Lawrence.
