Wilmington homicide victim identified

 Police   identified Kevin Washington, 24, of Wilmington, as the victim in a Friday  morning  homicide

At about  3:48 a.m. Wilmington Police officers were called  to the 4200 block of N. Market Street after receiving a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting.  Officers found  Washington at the southeast corner of Lea Boulevard and Market Street with a gunshot wound to the neck.  He was pronounced  dead at the scene.

Police closed the 4000  to 4200 blocks of North  Market Street for about   four hours as they canvased the area and collected evidence.

The News Journal reported it was the 20th murder in the city this year.
