Over the years, Capriotti’s has tightened up its menu offerings. Gone to the dismay of some is the cheeseburger sub.

Now, the sandwich chain, founded on Union Street in Wilmington, has jumped into the limited time category with the Firecracker Spicy Turkey Sub. The sandwich will be offered this month.

The sandwich features capacolla ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, oregano and crushed pepper relish.

Company CEO Ashley Morris noted that the last limited time offering was the Bobbie, which went on to become one of Capriotti’s most popular sandwiches. The Bobbie consists of turkey, cranberries, stuffing and mayo.

Capriotti’s is expanding into a nationwide chain with more than 80 stores. Two expansion targets are Dallas and most recently, the Washington D.C. area.
