Delaware entrepreneurs are invited to make a video  pitch in conjunction with the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Networking Mixer. The event features Daymond John of the TV series, “Shark Tank.”

The ‘Swim with the Sharks’ Video Pitch competition, presented by Newark Chrysler Jeep Dodge, provides early-stage business owners the opportunity to introduce their business to the local community while competing for the grand prize, which includes $2,500 in funding.

To enter, entrepreneurs create a short video to illustrate how $2,500 would help make their new business idea a reality and submit it to the County Chamber’s virtual shark tank before 5 p.m. on March 11. The public can vote for their favorites and help choose the finalists.

After the voting closes,  selected finalists will share their video at the Annual Dinner and Networking Mixer on March 18. Daymond John and event sponsors will place a final vote to determine the winner. Three finalists will win a 2013 County Chamber membership and a free Wilmington University business course.

“Daymond John and the ‘Sharks’ give entrepreneurs a chance to follow their dreams, and we want to do the same. The ‘Swim with the Sharks’ Video Pitch Competition is a fun way for these startups to get noticed,” said New Castle County Chamber of Commerce President Mark Kleinschmidt. “It’s one of the ways that we’re helping entrepreneurs find success right here in Delaware.”
