(Gallery) Polar Bear Plunge raises $652,000 for Special Olympics

    [Not a valid template]3,500 people participated in the 2013 Lewes Polar Bear Plunge benefiting Special Olympics Delaware. The event, which is sponsored by Wawa and Comcast and was held Feb. 3 at Rehoboth Beach, raised $652,000. In 22 years, more than $6.8 million has been raised.

     Air temperature at the time of the plunge was 30 degrees. The water  temperature was 38 degrees.
