The Hotel du Pont’s centennial celebration commenced on its official 100th anniversary.

The celebration at the Wilmington hotel last month had more than 200 employees, community members and guests in attendance.

“The Hotel du Pont is truly a ’ gem’ in Wilmington, the state and the region, said Susan Stalnecker, vice president, DuPont Global Fixed Cost Modernization & Hospitality, to attendees. “For the past century, the hotel has served as a destination for world dignitaries, movie stars, politicians, sports teams, lawyers, business people, tourists, and, of course folks like you and me who enjoy fine food, lodging and the best service there is!”

“Most important to the success of the Hotel du Pont are the dedicated and hard working employees who help create memories for our guests,” said Lisa Bolten, director, DuPont Hospitality. “Without them, it’s just an empty building.”

The Hotel du Pont also announced a commemorative book, Images of America: Hotel du Pont, containing historic images of the construction, architecture, hotel rooms,  events and guests that have contributed to the Hotel du Pont’s 100-year-old history. The book is available at the hotel’s hospitality gift shop and on Amazon.
