Prickett, Jones & Elliott endows Widener scholarship in corporate law

prickettWidener Law announced it has received a $500,000 gift that will endow an annual scholarship and award in corporate law.

The gift from Prickett, Jones & Elliott P.A.,  Wilmington, will create the William Prickett Corporate & Business Law Scholarship Fund. It will provide up to a year’s tuition annually for one highly qualified law student who has demonstrated academic excellence in both corporate law and civil procedure. It will also provide an annual graduation prize for outstanding achievement in corporate law to a graduate who is preparing to take the Delaware Bar.

Prickett, Jones & Elliott, founded in 1888  handles complex corporate, alternative entity and business litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery and other state and federal courts. It advises clients from around the world on Delaware law.

Widener’s Institute of Delaware Corporate and Business Law  offers students the chance to pursue a formal concentration in Delaware corporate law.

“The law school is honored to have such a distinguished Delaware firm invest in our program and our students this way,” Law Dean Linda L. Ammons said. “Prickett, Jones & Elliott has played key roles in multiple landmark Delaware corporate law cases. Now the firm will play a key role in helping to educate the next generation of corporate law attorneys.”
