Sponsors of a recent event say  finance is easy when you follow the rules. Two hundred high school juniors and seniors learned at the recent Money Rules Summit,

The event was  presented by the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute, in partnership with the University of Delaware’s Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship.

The rules of the interactive Summit were — learn more, earn more; pay yourself first; save early and often; set goals; and how to use credit wisely — are important in today’s credit-driven economy. The institute noted that one of out three teenagers has a credit card and just as many report carrying monthly balances.

Held at Delaware State University, the Money Rules Summit is sponsored by Citizens Bank, with additional support from Bank of America, Discover Bank, and State Farm, as well as the State Treasurer’s Office.
