Texas law firm in merger talks with Connolly, Bove

A Texas law firm is in discussions to merge with intellectual property specialist Connolly, Bove, Lodge and Hutz. Connolly, Bove is based in Wilmington.  The discussions were announced last month in a release.

Novak Druce + Quigg, a law firm based in Houston, would merge with the Delaware law firm and would become Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg. The transaction is expected to be completed in early January of 2013, creating the nation’s seventh-largest intellectual property law firm. Earlier, the the litigation side of Connolly, Bove was spun off into a new firm in what was described as a friendly transaction. Connolly Bove has specialized in intellectual property relating to key industries in the region, such as chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
