Tidewater Utilities, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Middlesex Water Company, unveiled a new operations  center in Sussex County last week.

Tidewater, established in 1964, provides service to retail water and wastewater customers, south of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal. The company, headquartered in Dover, has  42,000 businesses and homes in New Castle, Kent and Sussex Counties.

The new 5,300 square-foot operations facility provides response crews quicker access to centralized pipe, meter and valve inventory, according to the company.

Its location in Millsboro, DE will allow for more efficient dispatching of field crews to respond to service requests in Delaware’s southern region. Through its affiliated companies, Tidewater provides consulting, contract operations, maintenance and bulk water supply.

“In addition to providing quality water service, investing in our infrastructure and helping build stronger communities, we are constantly looking for ways to maintain and improve service to our customers while also reducing operating costs to the extent we can,” said Gerard L. Esposito, President of Tidewater Utilities. “The construction of this new facility in Millsboro will help Tidewater provide even greater value to the hundreds of residential communities and commercial entities that rely on us for seamless delivery of utility services,” he added.
